“We always invest in the best equipment available to further improve our capabilities, especially in areas where our market research tells us our customers would like further support. We also pride ourselves on the quality and capability of Team fc; buying a Formula 1 racing car does not on its own guarantee fast lap times. Only the combination of a great vehicle, teamwork and superb drivers can deliver that”

Communication quality continues to improve…

Further developments for our CRM system

Our use of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) has really moved forward since our last update. The sales module is fully implemented for quoting, order acknowledgements and all day-to-day communication with our customers. We can save customer-specific information and this is particularly useful for packing specifications and technical data.

The Quality team is also recording observations and fully utilising the CRM system’s capabilities, with an eye for detail, of course!

The Dispatch Team has undergone training to use the new software and this was incredibly positive as they embraced the technology and saw lots of opportunities on how it can be of benefit to the department. Following their CRM training the Dispatch Team said:

“The new system is very easy to use and will help us significantly by sharing lots of information and having it in one place”.

Welcome Aboard

Welcome Aboard – Roy

roy
Roy joined Team fc in November 2017 from Long Eaton Fencing Supplies where he was the Manager. His duties included making fence parts, putting up fencing, doing deliveries and serving customers.

Roy has settled into his new position very well and really enjoys being part of Team fc. Living in Long Eaton, Roy has been married for 25 years, has 3 children and one grandchild. He enjoys playing golf and of course supports the Mighty Rams!

Staff training and development

We are delighted to announce Ryan has successfully passed his apprenticeship and now is a Trainee Machine Operator working in the Die cutting process where his main functions are:

  • Setting up and assisting the operator in the make ready process on machinery to meet the customers’ requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out promptly to ensure productivity is not compromised.
  • To assist the main operator in ensuring optimum production is achieved.
  • Complete all relevant documentation before, during and on completion of any job.

The driving test is a very good analogy, to demonstrate the fc philosophy Ryan has passed his test and now he will learn how to drive! He will receive first class tuition, so he will become a very good driver. It really is a fantastic opportunity for Ryan to develop his skills, learn a trade and add betterment moving forwards for both himself and Team fc.

Chunk went on an effective team leader/supervisor course and came away with some useful tools to help continue his development in his role of Production Co-ordinator. In the future Chunk has said he would be very interested in attending a management course; this is yet another great example of how we invest in both the future of the employee and fc alike.

Charlie – why we sponsored a charity football match

fc was proud to sponsor a charity football match involving Athletica FC and an All stars X1. Charlie is the son of one of the customers at the Chequers Inn, Breaston and Liam is friends with his dad. Charlie, who has rare congenital heart abnormalities has had relentless hospital visits and on the night of the match had a bleed on the brain, so was unable to walk out with the teams. Instead “Rammie” lead the teams out to the roar of the large crowd. After the match, for which fc supplied the kit and made donations; there was a live band playing at the pub adding to the great atmosphere and community spirit. Jamie, one of our Forklift drivers plays in the band and helped make the day extra special for Charlie. We raised over £7,000 for the charity and are pleased to report that little Charlie is doing well.
