David Woodyatt

david-profileBorn and bred in Harborne, Birmingham, David began a career in catering, starting in the kitchen washing dishes and working his way up to become head chef. A desire to open his own restaurant saw David make the decision to go into the building industry, as a scaffolder, in order to earn enough money to save for the day he could establish his own restaurant.

Three years later he found himself in Nottingham, working for a carton company. Having worked his way up to production Director some 14 years later, he had an idea of starting his own business, specialising in carton gluing and it was from this gem of an idea that fc cartons was formed in 2003.

The business has enjoyed steady growth since its inception and David says he still enjoys the challenge of the day to day aspects of running the business.

In his spare time he enjoys a round of golf and supporting Birmingham City – somebody has to! David is also a keen collector of antiques and likes cooking for family and friends (and a very good cook he is too, by all accounts). He admits to still thinking about owning that restaurant.

Debra Woodyatt

debra-profileDebra has had over 35 years in the industry, having started out as a Financial Controller in a general printing company that later expanded into carton finishing. From the printing company, Debra’s next role was in the world of printed wrappers, films, paper and polythene bags; this was working for a large plc, with three sites and a turnover of 50 million pounds. It was during this time as a Commercial Accountant that Debra was involved in a Management Buyout of the company.

After taking a career break to have her two boys, Debra returned to work as a Commercial Accountant in the beauty industry (the tales she has to tell!).

Having made the decision to set up the business with husband David in 2003, the choice was made to include the names of their two sons in the company name. The initials f and c being taken from Freddie and Charlie.
Debra has responsibility for the finance and accountancy needs of fc cartons as well as wearing the hat of Quality Manager, although she is looking forward with confidence to handing this role over to Ash at some point in the future.

Debra also happily takes responsibility – or so we like to think – for providing clean tea towels and any other job that nobody else wants!

When she is not at work Debra is a familiar sight in the village where she lives, walking the family’s two chocolate Labradors – Cadbury and Cocoa.

In her spare time…what bit she has, Debra likes to spend her time gardening and tries to take in the odd good walk to blow away the stresses of the week!

Liam Cox

liam-profileLiam has been with fc cartons from the very beginning, having initially started his career in the industry in 1994, working first for a carton manufacturer and later a printers in Nottingham. He gained experience in warehousing and despatch before moving on to the production side, eventually becoming gluing manager. Liam as Operations Director has responsibility for the day to day running of the production facility at fc cartons.

In his dim and distant past, Liam was the front man in a five member Indie band called One Nil Down. They toured and played venues such as Rock City in Nottingham as well as Islington Town Hall and Covent Garden.

Liam is married to Emma and they have two boys Kai & Jimmy.

Liam’s passion in life (other than FC Cartons obviously ) is football, he helps coach adult and youth teams in his village of Breaston.

He and his boys are season ticket holders at Double European Champions – Nottingham Forest

He is also partial to a couple of pints down at his local.

Ash Bradshaw

ash-profileAsh started work in 1995 in the flexible die industry in Castle Donington after a position became available as a nickel operative. 17 years, 1 partner & 3 kids later (3 is enough – no more brandy nights at the local Helen!!) Ash had worked his way up through the company to have held various positions, travelling the world and ending up as member of the Technical team developing new, and improving on then current flexible die innovations.

After an opportunity arrived to work with some former colleagues which unfortunately didn’t work out for him personally, Ash moved on to gain his Quality Control position at FC. He has settled well into the FC office holding some constructive and engaging conversations (though Liam often refers to the words ‘Nerd’ and ‘Boring’ when he manages to stay awake) and is looking forward to helping FC move forward in the years to come.

When Ash isn’t at work he takes an active interest in visiting historic buildings of Castle Donington, though he only tends to spend his time at one building called ‘The Cross Keys’. One day he insists that he will actually take an interest in the other buildings as long as they serve Marstons Pedigree as well ………

Jennifer Cook

jennifer-profileJennifer has been with the company just over seven years, joining us from a self tanning company where she was PA to the owner, as well as having a role in HR. Prior to this Jen spent 12 years with a large hotel chain and also had a very exciting interlude where she worked in Libya as a PA at the British Embassy. Whilst sat contemplating retirement a phone call came from fc cartons – soon putting paid to those thoughts. We had other plans for her!

At fc cartons Jen provides administrative support to various departments within the company including HR and marketing – a true all rounder and an invaluable member of the team.

Jen lives in Sandiacre, Nottingham with her husband Steve who is a retired civil engineer, now working on a consultancy basis. She has two married off-spring and two young grandchildren – Ethan and Daisy, who she looks after one day a week and the odd weekend, plus a new grandchild due in September 2014

In her spare time Jen likes sewing, walking and spending quality time with her grandchildren

Toni Hibbert

Toni joins us after a career so far spent in the natural products industry working in both retail and wholesale.  She got to know FC Cartons originally as one of our customers and loved the company so much she decided to come and work here!

Starting out as a manager of a Health Store in Derby for 8 years, Toni moved into wholesale supply and became Sales Director of a wholesale buying group.  Apart from her knowledge of all things healthy, she brings with her a wealth of sales and marketing experience.

As Core Account Manager Toni has joined the team to build on our excellent service and further develop long term relationships with our customers.

Toni is married to Ian and lives in Derby with her twin daughters Katy and Jody.  In-between baking, creating and movie nights (and everything else that 7 year old girls like to do) she enjoys a good old sing song on the karaoke.  She likes to be a bit of a dare devil having done a sky dive, fire-walking and a free fall jump from stratosphere in Las Vegas!
