Solid carton boards are widely used for the retail of lighter weight items but due to their flexibility have a broad range of applications, here at FC we fully support and encourage the use of cardboard, paper based biodegradable products. High quality graphics can easily be applied to solid board, leading to professional packaging to increase shelf presence and consumer appeal. Our machines are capable of finishing a wide range of carton styles and materials, so finding the right solution for your product is no problem. Different types of Board include:

N – E/B Flute Corrugated

Corrugated board is made from a combination of two sheets of paper called liners glued to a corrugated inner medium called the fluting. These three layers of paper are assembled in a way which gives the overall structure a better strength than that of each distinct layer.

There are many types of corrugated, each with different flute sizes. Our Omega SM 110 is capable of folding and gluing fluted materials ranging from N Flute to C Flute.


We use and support the use of the most environmentally friendly products available which comply with the requirements of the European Community regulations for plastics used in food-contact applications (EU) No 10/2011. Anti-Mist Pre-treatment PLA film can subsequently be coated with a thin coating of an anti-mist treatment. The constituent parts of this coating are approved without restriction for use as additives in food contact. Sustainability: The film is made of PLA (polylacticacid), an environmentally friendly thermoplastic polymer made from the annually renewable resources corn starch and is fully biodegradable under industrial composting. Cellulose Diacetate films are suitable for use in contact with foodstuffs. The primary raw material for these grades is cellulose, from wood or cotton and which are both naturally renewable resources.
High Clarity Films, PET 312F Ultra-Clear 312F grade Polyester film is designed as a base film for high clarity packaging and industrial applications. Both sides are chemically treated for improved slip, adhesion to solvent based inks and coatings. All 312F grades are suitable for direct food contact. High Clarity Films PET 312F AM (Anti-Mist treated) Ultra-Clear 312F AM Polyester film is designed as a base film for high clarity packaging and industrial applications. One side is chemically treated for improved slip, adhesion to solvent based inks and coatings. The other surface is anti-mist treated in particular for window carton applications. All 312F AM grades are suitable for direct food contact. Acetate, Ultra-Clear Acetate film is designed as a base film for high clarity packaging applications and especially window patching. All Acetate grades are suitable for direct food contact.

Susceptor Films

Susceptor is a material used for its ability to absorb electromagnetic energy and convert it to heat. The electromagnetic energy is typically radiofrequency or microwave radiation used in industrial heating processes, and also in microwave cooking. The name is derived from susceptance, an electrical property of materials that measures their tendency to convert electromagnetic energy to heat.

As well as window patching, our Heiber and Schroder 1100 window patcher is also capable of applying susceptor materials. There’s a range of susceptor films suitable for a whole range of foods, able to easily cook crispy food in the microwave.
