The company strengthens its production capabilities with the addition of the new Videojet 1520 Continuous Ink Jet Printer and the Hot Melt Adhesive Applicator.

FC Cartons, a provider of specialist carton finishing solutions, today announced that it has strengthened its production capabilities with the installation of the new Videojet 1520 Continuous Ink Jet Printer and Hot Melt Adhesive Applicator in a bid to enhance and further develop its current gluing capabilities.

The new Videojet 1520 printer is a highly flexible platform that has been specifically designed for medium-duty coding applications. It can be used to print dates, numbers, initials and promotional materials in up to 26 different languages
Its versatility also means that it can be used in conjunction with FC Cartons’ many other capabilities, such as die-cutting, window patching, carton nesting, gluing, and much more. In addition to running promotions, inline inkjet printing can be used to ensure the traceability of cartons through the supply chain.

Speaking about the new printer, David Woodyatt, FC Cartons’ Managing Director said, ‘The new Videojet 1520 printer has enabled us to diversify our services, and improve our efficiency and capacity. It offers us quick, customisable manufacturing which in turn enables us to provide our customers with high value, a variety of options and excellent customer service.’

Adding to the company’s already impressive collection of investment earlier this year of the die-cutting, creasing and embossing equipment is the new Hot Melt Adhesive Applicator.

Designed for more difficult surfaces on complex materials, FC Cartons’ hot melt gluing applicators are extremely responsive and can provide thread-free, peelable and accurate application of adhesive dots and lines. The hot melt application heads are capable of firing up to 120 glue dots per second with pinpoint accuracy. The innovative technology also reduces glue consumption and waste, which is in keeping with the company’s aim of reducing its environmental impact and remaining a carbon neutral company.

With FC Cartons’ BRC/IOP High risk accreditation, customers can be assured that all hot melt gluing and inline inkjet printing is produced in a safe and hygienic environment and the quality of work is produced to the highest standard.
