fc cartons are proud to announce the launch of our new Pick and Place process.
Following an extensive development programme from August 2016, we’ve now introduced the Esatec Digistar Window Patcher Pick and Place machine (WPPP) to further enhance the finishing capabilities we can offer to our customers – the WPPP is the most complete Digistar machine available to date.
It is a multi-functional automatic window application system which cuts film in line from a roll and also places pre-creased/die cut windows onto finished carton blanks; using a highly bespoke, electric pre-programmed management system.
With unlimited design possibilities, the carton can incorporate any shape as the window is placed on the inside – meaning glue points and bleeds are discretely hidden, ideal for seamless, luxury packaging.
An impressive technical ability allows the machine to cater for a large number of applications and carton styles for both Window Patching and Pick and Place. Whilst performing with utmost accuracy, the Pick and Place machine also has the ability to produce Tri-Fold cartons – an increasingly popular aesthetic device seen more often in up-market or luxury packaging.
Cartons are fed into the machine in a normal fashion, however, the Digistar has the ability to pre-split the carton, insert a full window between and eventually glue it. The result is a four-panel window which effectively showcases the product – presented beautifully in 360-degree angles, unlike most other packaging designs.
Whilst this process is relatively new to fc cartons we have already attracted new customers and expanded an already extensive and versatile service for existing customers who have all been exceptionally pleased with the results. Since having the machine, fc cartons have produced a variety of carton styles from perfume to cake boxes. It allows us to offer our customers the opportunity to fully show off their products, increase shelf impact and enhance their overall competitive edge.
