Continuing Development

At the end of January, Gareth Northover and Jamie Cottee, two of our machine assistants, completed a three-day forklift truck training course. They put themselves forward for the training as we wanted to increase our options of licensed drivers to cover each shift and give us greater flexibility across our two units.

The three-day course took place on our premises across both our production units. The trainer, Trevor Pooley of Forklift Agency Ltd, shared his knowledge and expertise, and put Gareth and Jamie through their paces. He explained, ‘The lads were great – very keen to learn.’

Both Gareth and Jamie have now achieved the Lift Truck Operator Certificate of Basic Training and we congratulate them on their success.

Gareth has been able to put his training to good use, taking control when deliveries and collections are made. We caught up with him to see what he gained from the training. He said, ‘It was interesting to learn how to drive the forklift. It’s given me another option to help me progress and it’s something new to add to my CV.’

Jamie summed up his experience and added, ‘It was something I wanted to do and it was nice to be able to do something different from the daily routine. I’m glad I did it.’
