Toni’s 26 mile Stonehenge Trek on behalf of Alzheimer’s

I decided that I wanted to take on a challenge in honour of my Nan who passed away from Alzheimer’s last year and at the same time, raise some money for a good cause. My Nan was such a positive role model for me and choosing a difficult challenge seemed like a good idea! I even managed to convince my good friend Debbie to join me. I know that Alzheimer’s has an impact on a lot of families and I was really pleased to be able to raise funds for the charity.

The trek was beautiful, diverse and demanding and the last few miles were definitely not helped by the wind and the rain! We conquered the hills and kept going until 11 hours later, we completed the distance. However, we walked the furthest distance either of us has ever attempted and I still can’t believe we managed it. We trained twice a week and did our best to prepare in the months running up to the trek on the 3rd of September and it all paid off.

David, Deborah and the FC Cartons team were as supportive as ever and with their sponsorship and that of my family and friends, I managed to raise a final total of £632.
