Treetops Golf Day

golf-dayFC Cartons have helped to raise a record £5,000 for Treetops Hospice at its recent Treetops Golf Day tournament. The event was made extra special by the fact that the FC Cartons team emerged as winners, scoring a total of 85 points! Team members David Woodyatt, Melvyn Kelly, Des Buchanan and John Bray each received a golf bag for their stellar efforts.

The event which was well attended by businesses from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, took place on 15th May at the Morley Hayes Golf Club in Heanor. Treetops is one among several of our chosen charities for 2013. It offers palliative care to people with life-limiting conditions.

Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, Treetops corporate fundraiser, Alex Ward said, “This was the most successful Treetops Golf Day to date, and it was great to see so many teams from local businesses taking part. It costs Treetops £5,000 a day to run the hospice, which is how much the Golf Day raised. All those who took part can be very proud of the contribution they’ve made.”

KH Hair of Long Eaton took second place while Kingswood Sports and Media of Derby were third. All four FC Cartons team members had an enjoyable day and were delighted to make a contribution to this cause.
